Patty
competed in her first Figure Competition less than a year ago and has been bitten
by the bug ever since! She may be new to the competition scene but she’s certainly
not a novice in the gym. Even before figure competitions ever entered her mind you
could find Patty in the gym every day working harder than ever and still managing
to be wife and mother to three children.
Growing up Patty was active in all types of recreational sports and especially enjoyed
cheerleading and gymnastics, but her passion for fitness really sparked later in
life after working 15 years in corporate marketing/sales. Shortly after her third
child was born she felt she belonged home with her kids and decided to leave the
corporate world to be a stay-at-home mom. Fitness quickly became part of her daily
life and the more she worked out and learned about it the more she fell in love
with it. In addition, several close family members had suffered serious health complications
caused by being overweight, and Patty was determined to make her health a priority
and to set a good example for her children. With a desire to learn as much as possible,
she researched and read anything she could get her hands on that pertained to fitness
and nutrition.

One day Patty came across an article in a fitness magazine that
featured fitness icon, Monica Brant, and she was instantly drawn to her amazing
physique. The more she followed Monica’s career the more motivated she became. After
years of living the fitness lifestyle Patty thought it was time for a challenge,
to have a goal to work towards, and a chance to gain some self-confidence and do
something she never thought she’d do. In March of 2009 Patty attended a fitness
camp that Monica hosted. Even though people would approach her all the time about
competing, she never thought she’d have the confidence to do it, but Patty was so
motivated by Monica that she hired her nutritionist,
Kim Oddo right after camp.
Together they quickly transformed her body and Patty competed in the 2009 California
State Figure Championships less than 2 months after camp. She placed 3rd in Masters
and 2nd in the open class. Doing that first show was a personal step toward improving
her physique and conquering her fears, but it was such an amazing experience that
she was hooked! Later that year she competed in the Sacramento Figure and Bikini
Championships and won 1st place in masters and 2nd in the open class. Two weeks
later it was on to her first National show, NPC Nationals, where she placed 12th.
This year Patty is planning on competing at the Emerald Cup in April and Team Universe.
She also proudly represents
BNRG
as an ambassador and enjoys working various fitness events with them promoting their
products.
Through these experiences Patty has found her true passion in fitness and nutrition.
She is a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach who loves to help others
meet their fitness goals, especially other mothers. Patty has encouraged and inspired
countless others to be their best and not to let age or genetics or the fact that
they’ve had children get in their way.

Her goals now are to continue to compete, to work her hardest and proudly bring
the very best “Patty” to each and every show. She’s dreaming of a Pro-card someday
and maybe even being on the cover of a fitness magazine .
